Riyadh, KSA – 17 July 2024: Saudi Logistics Services (SAL) today signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with Tarshid Energy Solutions Company, a subsidiary company of the National Energy Services Company (Tarshid) to increase energy efficiency across SAL’s facilities. Following a detailed technical study and field surveys of SAL’s buildings, the energy retrofit project will upgrade existing energy systems to increase efficiency and reduce consumption in accordance with the highest international standards.

The MOU outlines the scope of the study which will include SAL’s facilities throughout Saudi Arabia and design the Company’s strategy to increase energy efficiency while reducing its consumption and operational costs, aligned with Saudi Arabia’s strategic sustainability goals, which are key pillars of Saudi Vision 2030. The MOU further reiterates both parties’ commitment to pioneering sustainable development and operational efficiency in the Kingdom’s logistics services and energy efficiency sectors.

Engineer Abdulazeez Al-sharif, Chief Shared Services Officer at SAL, and Mr. Fawaz Al Orifej, General Manager of Tarshid Energy Solutions Company, signed the MOU.

Mr. Fawaz Alorifej, General Manager of Tarshid Energy Solutions Company (Tarshid) said that the MOU with SAL is in accordance with deploying strategic sustainable solutions that contribute towards the environmental goals. “We are proud to support SAL’s strategic initiative to increase its facilities energy efficiency and their operational efficiency with innovative technologies. SAL provides ground handling services for air cargo and logistics solutions in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. It handles 95% of the Kingdom’s airports air cargo, in addition to sea and land cargo services, making it a leader in the Kingdom’s logistics sector and a major driver of development in line with the goals of Saudi Vision 2030.
