Riyadh, 20 August 2024 – SAL Logistics is pleased to announce the signing of a cooperation agreement with the Royal Commission for Jubail & Yanbu (RCJY) represented by Jizan City for Primary and Downstream Industries. This collaboration marks a significant milestone in enhancing logistics services and supporting economic growth in the Jizan region.
The cooperation agreement, signed by His Excellency Eng. Khalid Al Salem, President of the Royal Commission for Jubail and Yanbu, Faisal Albedah, MD & CEO of SAL, lays the foundation for a collaborative partnership that seeks to elevate the logistics and industrial sectors in Jizan. The agreement signifies a strong commitment by both parties to explore and develop opportunities that will benefit the region's economic landscape.
The primary objective of this agreement is to establish a framework for cooperation in various critical areas, with a focus on optimizing logistics and shipping services in Jizan. The partnership will see SAL and RCJY work together to enhance logistical integration between sea and air corridors at the Port of Jizan City for Primary and Downstream Industries and SAL's logistics stations. This will be a significant step toward creating a seamless and efficient logistics network that supports the region's growing industrial base.
In addition to logistical integration, the cooperation agreement also outlines a plan to forward current and potential investors at Jizan City for Primary and Downstream Industries (JCPDI) to SAL’s comprehensive logistics services. This move is expected to attract further investment into the region, providing businesses with the necessary logistical support to thrive. Moreover, the partnership aims to facilitate the exchange of commercial information and marketing events, ensuring that both SAL and RCJY are aligned in their efforts to promote the region's industrial and logistical capabilities.
A key component of this agreement is the enhancement of connectivity and integration between the Jazan Free Zone and the air cargo terminal at King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz International Airport in Jazan, operated by SAL. By strengthening the links between these crucial logistics hubs, the partnership will improve the efficiency of goods transportation, both domestically and internationally.
Furthermore, this agreement highlights the intent to connect Jazan Airport with other major airports through Road Feeder Services (RFS) for exports and imports, which is expected to significantly increase logistical activity at Jazan Airport. This initiative will not only enhance the region's connectivity but also boost its profile as a key logistics hub in the Kingdom.
Speaking on the occasion, Faisal Albedah, MD & CEO of SAL, expressed his optimism about the partnership, stating, "the cooperation agreement represents a crucial step forward in our mission to strengthen the logistics infrastructure in the Kingdom. By partnering with the Royal Commission for Jubail & Yanbu represented by Jazan City for Primary and Downstream Industries, we are not only enhancing our service offerings but also contributing to the broader economic development of the Jizan region."
